The Range at Austin is a 52,000 square foot range facility built for both the seasoned Texas shooter and curious beginners. Truly modern Texas fun, The Range has multiple shooting bays for pistols and rifles, a large welcoming retail space and friendly staff to help with whatever you need. Come take a class, book a machine gun package or just stop by for a visit. However you do guns, you can do it at The Range.

NOTE: This is an OFF-SITE course.
According to the AAA Foundation, Americans spend an average of 17,600 minutes in a vehicle each year; do you have what it takes to defend yourself in that space? This Vehicle Close Quarter Engagement (CQE) course will teach you strategies for defending yourself inside, outside, and around your motor vehicle.
This course is open to civilians, military, and law enforcement.
Location: Seguin, Texas (address to be provided upon registration)
Duration: 8 hours (1 hour lunch break)
Objectives:
-Demonstrate firearm safety in dynamic drills and environments
-Exit a vehicle while engaging with a pistol
-Maintain accuracy while shooting from unconventional positions (seated, prone, kneeling, etc.)
-Identify and utilize cover and concealment in and around vehicles
-Transition between pistol and rifle platforms (optional)
-Develop a personal protection plan for your vehicle
Prerequisites:
-Holster Qualification (email training@therangeaustin.com for more information)
-Dojo Green and Blue Belts may participate with OWB holsters
-Dojo Purple Belts and up may participate with concealment holsters
Required Gear:
-Pistol with at least 2 magazines
-Strongside, Outside the Waistband Holster (Purple Belt students may use a concealment holster)
-500 rounds of pistol ammunition (1,000 rounds if not using a rifle)
-Rifle with at least 2 magazines (optional)*
-500 rounds of rifle ammunition (NO steel core or green tip ammunition allowed)
-Ear protection & eye protection*
-Gloves*
-Sack Lunch (no microwaves or refrigerators available on site)

The LTC (Formerly CHL) Course is the Texas required training program for first time applicants. The concealed handgun course consists of a state mandated 4-6 classroom hours of instruction from a DPS certified Instructor.
This is not a firearm training class. This class only covers the Texas laws surrounding carrying a firearm and use of force. The shooting portion of this class is strictly a test. If you are new to firearms we highly recommend taking our New Pistol Shooter class first
Topics include:
• Texas laws pertaining to the Use of Force/Deadly Force and weapons;
• safety and use of handguns, holsters and secure open carrying of handguns;
• Non-violent dispute resolution;
• Safe and proper storage practices for firearms emphasizing practices that eliminate potential for accidental injury to a child.
The Firearms Proficiency portion consists of a 50-round course of fire at 3, 7 and 15 yds. A combination of lecture, A/V presentation and hands-on exercises will be utilized to keep the class safe, enjoyable and informative.

Required Gear
• Semi-automatic pistol (.22LR or greater)* No lasers or optics (i.e. Red Dots).
• 2x pistol magazines
• 50 rounds of factory FMJ ammunition (reloads are prohibited)*
• Range appropriate clothing; long pants, comfortable shirt, athletic shoes and a ball cap
• Ear and eye protection
• Water bottle & snacks
• Notebook with pen/pencil
• Open mind
