The Rifle 2 is an INTERMEDIATE level 2-day class for the serious student or AR-15 rifle shooter.




•State gun safety rules & range protocol

•Demonstrate safe gun handling techniques

•State nomenclature and describe gun operations

•Demonstrate the proper mounting and use of an adjustable rifle sling for an AR-15 rifle

•Learn how to use traditional iron sights and or red dot optical sights

•Compute holds using Improved Battlesight Zero

•Describe basic zeroing procedures and Point Blank Range familiarization

•Learn supported rifle positions for improved accuracy

•Perform correct rifle zeroing procedures for AR-15 rifle

•State the three parts to the practical shooting method

•Demonstrate the practical shooting method

•State the principles of marksmanship

•Demonstrate preparatory & basic marksmanship shooting skills

•Demonstrate ready positions shooting techniques

•Practice ready positions training exercises

•Practice pistol transition training exercises

•Practice malfunction clearance and combat reload training exercises

Required Gear


• Semi-automatic M4/AR-15 rifle (5.56mm recommended)*

For the safety and experience of all students no muzzle brakes or compensators are allowed

• Semi-automatic pistol (9mm recommended)

• 1,000 rounds of factory ammunition* (steel core and bi-metal ammunition is prohibited)

• 50 rounds of factory pistol FMJ ammunition (reloads are prohibited)*

• 5x 30-round rifle magazines

• 3x pistol magazines

• Adjustable rifle sling

• Iron sights required

• Red dot optical sight w/mount

• Range appropriate clothing; long pants, comfortable shirt, athletic shoes and a ball cap

• Comfortable chest rig capable of holding 3x rifle magazines

• Elbow/knee pads (optional)

• Ear & eye protection

• Outside the waistband (OWB) holster

• Single or double pistol magazine pouch

• Notebook with pen/pencil

• Water bottle & snacks

• Open mind




Attendance Policy: Once registered, if unable to attend class you may transfer to another class similar to the original. The procedure you must follow is to email: prior to the conflicted class date with the requested new date subject to availability. This email must be received prior to the registered class. If you cancel, you will lose 50% of your registration fee. If you are a no show, you will lose 100% of your registration fee.
